My family and I came to Aurora and knew almost right away that we'd made the right choice. From the first time we drove through town, there was a sense of community here that felt different from other places in York Region. My wife and I are raising our son and daughter here, and along the way we've come to love what makes this town special: the parks and trails, the sports and cultural life, and the spirit of volunteerism that runs through it. That spirit is what drew us in, and it's what I've tried to give back to ever since.
A lot of families have found their way to Aurora in recent years, much like mine did. I know what it's like to be new here, and I've always tried to help newer residents find their place, because the more people who get involved, the stronger that Aurora spirit becomes. This town has never run on big institutions. It runs on neighbours who show up, coaches who stay late, and volunteers who give their weekends without being asked. That's the Aurora I fell for, and it's the one I want to protect.
